Where you at?

Hi everybody!

Erika, where are you at in your reading? I know you have been going strong whereas I keep taking breaks from the book. I am enjoying reading it slowly. I feel like I am learning a lot, and I'm letting all of it sink in before I continue plugging along. In my spare time I am also reading a book series that I read in middle school - The Vampire Diaries. I LOVED this series when I read it 15 years ago and I am enjoying it once again! lol. Tiff, where you at in your reading? Marcus, are you even bothering with this book anymore? Lou, how is your second read coming along?

I am mid-Chapter 7. I will post more soon.

Love you all.

Kim

Umm yeah, sorry guys but I stopped reading this a while back. Seemed way too cult-ish for me. The whole thing was just way too wierd. Crazy words like pain-body, and a constant doubling back on the points that he makes just made it feel like I was in the middle of a cult and I was getting brainwashed. I hope I havent offended anyone but thats the honest to God's truth. I am ready for the next book.

Speaking of that, who is choosing the next book? and are we trying to start on June 1?

Hi Marcus-

I am sorry to hear that you feel that way about the book...what an awful feeling!!! We have encountered a few problems with the first schedule, so I am not really sure when we will start the next book. I am almost finished with "The New Earth" but I understand that there are many others that are not finished. I would like to give everyone the opportunity to finish this book because it contains a lot of information and the book forces the reader (at least in my opinion) to do some reflection. I hope that you can join us when we start the new novel. Like I said, I am not sure when that is going to be, but I will keep everyone posted!

That's OK Marcus. I will get crackin on finishing this book. I know Erika had the idea about Augusten Burroughs' new memoir, which I saw in the book store is just out on hard cover. I know I don't want to buy a hard cover. We should start discussing the next book soon and get everyone's thoughts...

Right. I noticed that Augusten Burroughs' new book is only hard cover at this time. On Amazon.com is is not expensive, but I understand if we want to wait on that particular book. Actually, there is another memoir that I will post about...we may want to read that one!

I hope that all of you had a wonderful extended weekend.
